Empowering Lives, Driving Transformation
“The greatness of humanity is not in being human, but in being humane“ said Mahatma Gandhi
At Kantar, our ethos is firmly rooted in human-centric values that prioritize dignity, well-being, and the holistic growth of individuals - within and beyond our organization. This commitment translates into a purposeful approach in the form of Inclusive Practices, Empowering Culture, and a Transformative Focus on communities.
Inclusive Practices + Empowering Culture = Driving Organisational and Societal Transformation
We are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported in pursuing their goals. Equal opportunities and access to resources are the cornerstones of this effort and we bring this to life through a two-pronged approach that focuses on driving
Internal Change: Through our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
External Change: Through our CSR arm, Kantar India Foundation (KIF)
Our ERGs help shape the workplace culture and also contribute to societal impact . Self-empowered and self-running with a formal structure, governance and hierarchy, these ERGS span across all aspects of Inclusion, y, covering Gender Identity, Sexual Orientation, Age, Abilities, Neuro-diversity, Culture, Race & Ethnicity
Kantar India Foundation (KIF), the CSR arm of Kantar India , joins hands with our external partner Foundations and facilitates change through its mission of "Equipping Women for Life". This mission is not only about elevating individual lives but is also about recognising women as agents of change and empowering them through financial independence and dignified employment, to drive sustainable development across communities,
This empowerment, we believe, is achieved through financial independence and dignified employment.
Empowering Women Through Financial Independence and Dignified Employment
Nelson Mandela said, “Freedom cannot be achieved unless the women have been emancipated from all forms of oppression.
Kantar India Foundation‘s mission of “Equipping Women for Life" , addresses deep-rooted barriers to women’s economic independence through the enablement of
● Education: Our partnerships have not just facilitated construction of school infrastructure but also facilitated STEM education in government schools, providing current and cutting-edge academic inputs to not just students but also teachers
● Skill Building and Employment: By establishing viable pathways for marginalized women in underserved regions with partnerships for skills like Beauty-Preneurship, and Nursing Support, KIF opens doors to employment and fosters financial stability that drives independence
● Life Skills: Enhancing adaptability to the environment is a key part of personal growth .. Our partnerships have facilitated counsel and life navigation for young adults transitioning from Care-Homes to independent living, supporting their navigation of this critical phase with confidence and resilience.
● Financial Literacy: Equipping women to manage and grow their earnings, enabling them to be in control of not just generating income, but also grow their resources effectively
● Workplace Safety: Building awareness around rights and POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) policies for safer work environments, particularly in the un-organized sector
Over the past three years, these initiatives have empowered more than 25,000 women, fostered economic independence and amplifying their impact as catalysts for change.
Breaking Barriers in Traditionally Male-Dominated Sectors
Despite their potential, women represent just 20% of India’s manufacturing workforce, with few opportunities in technical, skill-based roles that allow for career growth. Limited access to education, inadequate skills training, and entrenched societal norms further restrict their inclusion.
One of standout examples of KIF’s efforts in breaking barriers, is the collaboration between Kantar India Foundation and Sambhav Foundation.
Recognizing the untapped potential of women in manufacturing, this partnership launched a residential skill development program for Fitter-Fabricator training, to enable women to step into traditionally male-dominated roles., challenging societal norms and structural barriers. Starting with a center in Hosur and expanding to Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, the program has empowered over 950 women, with more than 90% transitioning into wage employment. These women are shattering stereotypes, contributing to their families and the economy, and inspiring others to follow in their footsteps.
Beyond Funding: Building lasting connections through Volunteering
Kantar India Foundation’s commitment goes beyond financial support. Volunteering has become a powerful avenue for bridging gaps and creating lasting impact. Kantar teams have actively participated by mentoring program candidates, conducting workshops for building professional and life skills , and sharing workplace insights to enhance participants’ preparedness and confidence.
These efforts deepen the connection between our teams and the communities we serve, fostering a sense of shared purpose in driving meaningful change.
Real Stories, Real Impact
The true essence of these initiatives is reflected in the stories of empowered women who have broken barriers, uplifted their families, and transformed their communities. Every life touched and every change facilitated, deepens our resolve to drive more , reinforcing the far-reaching effects of investing in women’s potential.
The Path Forward
While we take pride in the progress made, we recognize the journey is far from complete. Our dedication to equipping women for life remains unwavering, and we are committed to expanding these initiatives to create a future where every woman has the opportunity to thrive and lead. Together, we will continue our efforts to build a legacy of empowerment, inclusion, and sustainable change.
