Since March 2023, Saksham Bharat has transformed 500 youth into Mirae Asset Scholars. Situated in Vejalpur, Ahmedabad, the centre has equipped them with diverse proficiencies in BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance), furnishing them with essential skills and knowledge to thrive in this continuously evolving sector. This program equips young people with the skills they need to thrive in the BFSI sector, fostering financial independence through job-readiness training that builds confidence and interview/presentation skills, ultimately connecting them with employment opportunities in relevant corporates.

Mirae Asset Foundation, over the last 5 years, has been making great strides in an effort to change the lives of deserving individuals/students by helping them achieve their goals. BFSI sector making rapid strides in India. Through this collaboration, with Bharat Cares Mirae Asset Foundation hope to make a modest impact and open opportunities to young students to fashion their careers in the BFSI sector.

A major highlight of the course was the industry expert sessions that were conducted once every month. These sessions provided learners with real-world insights and practical knowledge directly from professionals actively engaged in the industry. Such firsthand experiences offer a deeper understanding of industry trends, challenges, and best practices, enriching the learning process beyond textbook learning. Students also got the chance to visit the Bombay Stock Exchange in Ahmedabad, one of the most prominent financial institutions within the BFSI sector in India.

One can’t forget the numerous placement fairs conducted, serving as crucial platforms for connecting students with potential employers, and bridging the gap between education and employment. The fairs also helped students understand the job landscape and apply for jobs suitable for their skill set. Then there were the usual classroom sessions covering technical training and job-readiness skills. A feather in the cap for the centre is the fact that 70% of youth secured employment after completing their training.

From the numerous success stories, sharing one of Nidhi Rathod -  a 23-year-old, from a family where both parents work as tailors, she joined the course aspiring to become financially self-dependent. With all the effort she put in and guided and curated support from the Saksham Bharat initiative, she was able to secure job offers from Kotak Mahindra, Aditya Birla Life Insurance and Union Bank of India. She started working as a Credit Card Sales Executive at Union Bank of India in June 2023. Within no time, she was able to earn 2X of her net base salary because of her performance as incentives. In her first month with the bank, she was awarded 3rd best-performing employee in the Ahmedabad region, and in just two months, she placed first.
