Top 20 Companies with CSR Activities in Agriculture in India
India's agriculture sector plays a pivotal role in the country's economic progress. The increased food demand in local and global markets has opened up enormous opportunities for farmers yet they continue to face challenges such as small and declining land holdings, price instability, soil degradation, and climate risks. Various service providers, such as private agribusiness firms and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), must be involved in the transmission of agricultural technologies with information, skills, and expertise, while also leveraging Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.
Despite the fact that companies have spent CSR funds in the agriculture industry, there still lies a significant opportunity for investment in this sector. Companies can create CSR projects to help farmers enhance their crops and earn more income. Such investments will aid the agriculture sector's growth and development.
Below are some of the Agricultural projects in India based on the CSR funds allocation of each company in the Financial Year 2020-21.
