What are the major challenges in your constituency?

Mahabubabad is a reserved constituency with a population constituting 40% of tribal communities falling under the 6^th schedule of the constitution which did not have basic facilities till recent times; however, the scenario has changed after the formation of Telangana as an independent state. The Government of Telangana has been prompt in providing basic amenities and overcoming the challenges faced in the area which deserves appreciation.

The commitment of the CSR towards the development of rural Telangana has been commendable and as a Member of Parliament, Professor Naik has proposed to provide support to the corporate firms coming forward towards the development of the constituency, mitigating the challenges in due course, developing rural infrastructure, especially in schools of the area.

What is the roadmap and future for CSR in Telangana?

The companies act has rendered some norms towards in commencement, stating 2% of the net profit should be used for development activities, wherein 1% of the amount should be utilized for the development of the minority communities. However, he has stated that the companies rarely follow the mandate diligently as a result; the minority group often do not get full access to development and benefits of the present society. Also, he feels that, priority should be given to the communities living in the vicinity of the corporate projects and that the companies should be responsible towards developing community infrastructure and health facilities of the area.

What kinds of partnership engagement can Telangana Government chalk out with corporate and NGO's?

The Government of Telangana has been providing subsidies to the companies coming forward towards the development of the state. Speaking about his constituency, he states that the area has no industry or investments as compared to the rest of the state as a result, educated youth are devoid of jobs in the area. He has proposed to the companies to set up skill development centres which can provide skill training to the youth and a guarantee of job placement in the aftermath which will help in enhancing the economy and development of the area.
