Aahwahan Foundation has announced the successful implementation of Project Udaan, an initiative aimed at empowering girl students through improved access to education. The project, carried out in collaboration with Acuiti Labs, involved the distribution of 45 bicycles and 300 wellness kits to girls studying in Karnataka Public School, Uttarahalli , Bengaluru - 560061, which is a government school. The initiative addresses a critical challenge, safe and reliable transportation - by enabling students to travel to school securely, reduce commute time, and attend classes regularly, thereby improving educational continuity and overall well-being. The wellness kit contains the following items: sanitary pads, handwash liquid, bathing soap, a bottle of shampoo, hair oil, a comb, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a nail cutter, and a hot water bag. Project Udaan was conceptualized to tackle the persistent issue of unsafe and difficult travel conditions that often discourage girls from attending school.
Many students in underserved communities walk long distances, facing risks such as heavy traffic, isolated routes, and lack of transportation. By providing bicycles, the initiative directly addresses these concerns, offering a dependable and safe commuting option that encourages consistent attendance and active participation in academic and extracurricular activities. In addition to mobility support, the distribution of 300 wellness kits highlights Aahwahan Foundation’s holistic approach to education. These kits are designed to promote hygiene, health, and dignity among adolescent girls, factors that significantly influence confidence and school attendance. By addressing both physical accessibility and personal well-being, the initiative ensures that girls are better equipped to continue their education without interruption.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Braja Kishore Pradhan, CEO & Founder of Aahwahan Foundation, said, “Every girl deserves the chance to learn without fear or limitation, no matter where she comes from. When we remove the barriers to education, we don’t just change one life, we uplift entire communities. A simple bicycle can carry dreams, confidence, and the courage to move forward. Through Project Udaan, we are committed to ensuring that no girl’s journey to education is ever out of reach. Because when a girl continues her education, she rewrites her future with strength and dignity. And in her progress, we see the hope of a more equal and empowered tomorrow. The wellness kits we provide are not just items-they are tools of dignity, health, and self-confidence. Each kit gives a girl the comfort and care she deserves, reminding her that her well-being matters as much as her education.”
The collaboration with Acuiti Labs reflects a growing commitment from the corporate sector to support meaningful social initiatives. However, the driving force behind Project Udaan remains Aahwahan Foundation’s vision of inclusive education, where accessibility, safety, and opportunity are available to every child, regardless of their circumstances. Through initiatives like Project Udaan, Aahwahan Foundation continues to strengthen its mission of empowering girls through education. Each bicycle distributed represents more than transportation, it symbolizes independence, confidence, and the opportunity for a brighter future. The initiative stands as a testament to how targeted efforts can reduce dropout rates, improve attendance, and inspire young girls to pursue their aspirations with determination and hope.
As the foundation expands its outreach, it remains committed to creating meaningful change by addressing the real barriers that hinder education, ensuring that no girl is left behind due to lack of access or opportunity.
