The Ketto Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Ketto, has completed its first year of operations, marking a milestone year focused on building credible programmes, strong partnerships, and scalable interventions across healthcare, education, and nonprofit capacity building.
In its first year of implementation, the Foundation has reached more than 35,000 lives and supported 800+ learners through model village education programmes, working alongside nonprofit partners and community institutions to expand access to essential services.Through collaborations with companies, the initiative also enabled volunteering programmes and curated social impact engagements, creating meaningful participation opportunities for corporate teams while delivering measurable outcomes for communities
Among its major efforts this year were infrastructure and patient care enhancements at the Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute, aimed at improving diagnostic facilities and expanding access to treatment for thousands of patients..
On World TB Day, the Foundation launched a Mumbai nutrition program delivering 2,100 kits to 500 TB patients to improve treatment adherence and recovery. Run with Doctors For You, our work was felicitated by Health Minister Shri Prakash Abitkar and recognised by Deputy CM Smt. Sunetra Pawar for advancing the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan via the Nikshay Mitra initiative.
The Foundation has made capacity-building within the nonprofit ecosystem a key priority, aligning with Ketto’s larger vision of driving sustainable growth across the social sector. Key to Tomorrow, the Foundation's premier 30-session capacity-building program for charity founders and leadership teams, supports these initiatives. Currently supporting 12 nonprofit organizations, the pilot cohort provides organized learning on organizational structures, governance, fundraising preparation, and long-term sustainability—all crucial topics for NGOs hoping to increase their impact. The program is positioned as a sector-strengthening initiative, allowing organizations to transition from project-level operations to institution-building—a gap that philanthropic and CSR stakeholders often point out.
The Foundation established a STEM lab at Government Higher Secondary School, Andarkuppam in Chennai, Tamil Nadu that will enable 250+ students to move beyond theoretical learning to hands-on, experiential STEM education hence fostering curiosity, confidence, and active engagement.
The Foundation also convened CSR leaders and nonprofit organisations for a sector roundtable focused on strengthening capacity-building frameworks within the social sector, reinforcing its role not only as a funder but as a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Reflecting on the milestone, Varun Sheth, Co-founder of Ketto and Board Advisor of Ketto Foundation, said: “Our first year has been about building programmes that are credible, scalable, and aligned with the real needs of the social sector. Whether through healthcare interventions or strengthening nonprofit scaling through Key to Tomorrow, our focus is on enabling organisations and communities to build sustainable impact.”
Shilpa Mishra, Executive Director of Ketto Foundation, added:
“Lasting social impact in India will be driven by strong partnerships and stronger institutions. At Ketto Foundation, we focus on healthcare access and prevention, education and SEL, and nonprofit capacity building—building models that deliver outcomes today while enabling responsible scale. Recognition under the Nikshay Mitra initiative by Honourable Sunetra Pawar reinforces this institution-first approach.”
With its first year complete, the Ketto Foundation now enters its next phase focused on deepening healthcare and education interventions, scaling Key to Tomorrow to support more nonprofits, and expanding partnerships with CSR leaders and global philanthropic institutions.
