Haqdarshak Empowerment Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (HESPL) is a tech platform for doorstep delivery of welfare services. This is implemented on the field through 2 models, which are: 1. Direct Implementation Model and 2. Training and Livelihood Model. The difference between the 2 models is the outcome focus, however the end goal is to ease access to welfare schemes for citizens. They partner with various CSR, philanthropies, NGOs, MSMEs and the government to implement these projects across India, here is one example on our project with IWWAGE.
Unawareness and lack of handholding support means citizens often end up making multiple visits to government departments for a single welfare application. Travel and opportunity costs discourage citizens further; consequently, many miss out on their entitlements. Training change agents within communities on welfare programs is a step towards tackling this at the source. Their project in the state of Chhattisgarh, enabled 5000 women associated with Self Help Groups(SHGs) to assist citizens in entitlement applications and highlighted the need for handholding support. Programs like these enable women to learn about rights, serve citizens and earn a livelihood in the process.
The personal benefits often vary depending on the scheme. For example, their farmer-beneficiaries report an improvement in their agricultural productivity owing to the support provided by agricultural schemes. Some were able to buy rations and medicines during the lockdown with the monetary benefits received. Whereas, the Haqdarshaks who work post receiving training from them, experience financial stability with the revenue earned. Along with this, they enjoy a reputation and identity in their community, with an enhancement in their overall digital and financial literacy.
