About the Report
The report ‘District Mineral Foundations (DMFs) in India: An Overview of Funding and Development Priorities’ is an extended-research publication by CSRBOX and NGOBOX, presents insights of the amount collected under District Mineral Foundations (DMFs)and their spending in high priority areas and other priority areas as per the guidelines given by Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY). The creation of local institution called District Mineral Foundation (DMF) meant to help fund the projects for socio-economic development of the communities affected by the mining operations in the country. The report gives a glimpse of the overall collection of funds in different states and where these funds are utilised for development as per the priorities.
The amount collected under DMFs has increased in last 3 years, and so as the amount spent, however, the amount spent is still at lower side and the major focus for expenditure is limited to few thematic areas only.
