Project Description

DIKSHa is the banner under which Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF) conducts its skill development programs across India. DBF signed an MoU with National Skill Development Corporation in 2016 for imparting skill training to unemployed youth through short term courses. These centers are now popularly called as DIKSHa - Dalmia Institute of Knowledge and Skill Harnessing. DIKSHa centers are not only supporting in bridging the employability gap and creating a specialized, skilled workforce, but actively involved in imparting skill training in farm and non-farm sector, building Community based organizations and enabling access to finance. The skill training programs are conducted at DIKSHa centers that are setup in various locations across the country. DBF has been working on improving the skills of the neighboring community to ensure better livelihoods. Foundations’ focus has been to make the communities more resilient and sustainable with additional avenues of income.

Through our 12 DIKSHa centers across 5 states, 5,571 trainees have passed till date and more than 700 trainees are undergoing training. All the passed out trainees have been offered placement with 75% of them successfully employed and others are exploring self-employment. Our primary focus is on rural youth who are either unemployed, underemployed or seasonally employed.
