Project Description

Kalinga University has always played pioneer role in creating positive impact in the society by developing skills among people. One of the initiative was to incorporate unorthodox way of teaching methodology among rural school students. Science has always been an interesting subject and can be taught by utilizing different models and teaching aids for fetching productive outcome from students. A program was conducted in the university to train teachers of rural schools in various aspects for making the teaching-learning process effective. In this program, various methods were discussed to engage students and many interesting practical exercise were given to the rural school teachers which they can implement in their schools for teaching science holistically. 49 teachers from various schools participated in this event and actively participated in making 4 science models that can teach science effectively. The event was sponsored by IEEE as they found the event to be productive and can help the society. Dr. Vijayalaxmi Biradar, Mr. Anup Kumar Jana & Mr. Sarat Chandra Mohanty were the resource person for this event. One of the most active student branch of IEEE fetched excellent feedback once the event got completed from all the participants. The event did not focus only on developing the skills among teachers but also initiated the creative thinking ability for making learning effective.

  • Hands-on activities: This event focused on hands-on activities which allowed participants to engage in scientific experimentation and exploration.
  • Coordination: This workshop involved group activities where participants have shown coordination with each other and shared ideas and insights.
  • Expert facilitators: This workshop had expert facilitators who guided participants in their scientific inquiries and helped them understand complex scientific concepts.
  • Use of technology: Workshops involved the use of technology such as hydraulics, sensors, and other equipment to conduct experiments.
  • Evaluation and feedback: This workshop included feedback mechanism to assess the effectiveness of the workshop and provided suggestions for improvement.
