Project Description

  • Digital Literacy for Men: The main objective of this intervention is to provide Digital Skills to men and enable them to become familiar with Technology and use available services effectively. Basic skills covered include the use of Smartphones, recharging them online, using the internet, understanding payment methods, shopping, and transferring money online. This is followed by experiencing and accessing specialized services like weather reports, crop rates, loans for farming, etc. ongoing support is provided till proficiency is achieved.
  • Customized Industry-specific Training: Based on the requirement of Corporates and training needs assessment of employees, customized programs are designed and conducted for workers and supervisors covering soft skills, supervisory skills, and managerial skills.
  • Training of trainers customized program has been designed for enabling ITI Instructors for mentoring and training youth in core employability Skills. The program, conducted in 2 or 3 modules over 18 days, acquaints the instructors with modern industry’s expectations from entry-level workers, and skills them in appropriate methodologies for training students.

Special Features of Project

  • Whole-community skill development for employment & income generation projects: Community-focused projects including all the above along with community-specific needs are also undertaken. In addition, several events and skill competitions for many age and gender segments are conducted regularly to promote and encourage skill development. Currently, 2 projects are ongoing in Haryana, one in Village Janouli in Palwal and one in Pataudi in Gurugram District.
  • Corona Relief, Restoration, and Build-back Programs: In the wake of the Corona Crisis, ETASHA provided relief through cash, ration, and sanitation material for 4689 needy families during the 1st and 2nd waves. More significantly, we worked with 320 women and men to help them earn and support themselves with dignity through our Livelihood Restoration project. 1,54,890 hygienic 3-layered cotton masks and other protective materials produced by them were distributed to people as well as to the hospitals, schools, and the police working in vulnerable communities.
  • Also, we helped people from the community who had lost jobs due to lockdowns and slow-down of the economy by holding job fairs and linking them to employment opportunities. We helped find jobs for 170 adults who had lost their jobs due to the pandemic.With the third wave hitting the country, we are currently distributing preventive medical kits to protect against Omicron.
