The Katha School of Entrepreneurship (KSE) was established in 1995 with the objective of offering skills development and training to youth and women from underserved communities. KSE trains approximately 500 professional trainees every year in various courses and help them gain formal jobs and gainful employment and lead them to come out of entrenched poverties. Almost all of the beneficiaries of the KSE program come from low-income families where the average household monthly income is Rs. 2,500-3,000. In addition, over 50% of KSE’s professional trainees are women, many of whom have dropped out of school and have few employable skills. Over the last 26 years, KSE has trained over 30,000 youth and women and more than 80% of them are in jobs and living their life with dignity and happiness. KSE, through offering relevant vocational courses and skill based training and subsequent support helps these marginalized women and young people to access significant income generation opportunities.
