ADEH has been organizing eye care camps in Gurgaon. ADEH/ACT focuses on the project areas of Gurgaon (population 8,00,000) to carry out the activities of eye care screening through establishing a Vision Centre and Outreach Programme. All these will be guided and coordinated by a team of full-time organizers of the outreach department of Arunodaya Deseret Eye Hospital.

Main Objective of this Refractive Errors Project in Gurgaon:

• To provide free eye care to patients with special eye conditions mainly Refractive Errors in the Gurgaon area. This will be done through a Vision Centre facility/outreach Programme in Gurgaon villages/slum areas.

The Refractive Error Eye Screening project will address the following issues:

• Proper Vision Centre/outreach: a referral-based approach to managing Uncorrected Refractive Errors
• Eye care awareness through literature, eye care talks, audiovisual presentations
• Correcting refractive errors by providing quality glasses for distance and near vision.

• Working for a community of poor and needy people in the slums area.
• Providing treatment for screening of Cataract surgeries, eye diseases like Refractive Errors, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Vitreoretinal diseases, Corneal blindness, Low vision, and Childhood blindness. The program is now geared to take care of all categories of visual impairment.
