RAF Global has set up a Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Medical Oxygen Generation plant of 960 LPM in partnership with GMERS General Hospital, in Junagadh district of Gujarat. This initiative emerged from RAF Global's humanitarian response in Junagadh district of Gujarat, during the catastrophic effects of the pandemic and high number of cases of Covid-19 disease. The support re-affirms RAF Global's commitment to strengthen district level public healthcare infrastructure in tier III towns so that a large segment of the local community could access effective medical treatment locally.
After the signing of the MoU, the partners have endeavoured to install a world-class medical oxygen generation plant facility in the premises of the district hospital.
This ‘Gift of Oxygen Generation Plant’ contributes towards strengthening of the public healthcare infrastructure in Junagadh district, and overall well-being of the local community, especially, poor patients who cannot afford critical healthcare services. Operational since March 2022, the facility is not only addressing the day-to-day medical oxygen needs of the district hospital, it has also created additional 270 oxygenated beds at the hospital. The district hospital’s capacity to perform critical life-saving role, has therefore been enhanced for the next 15 years, covering entire western Saurashtra region.
In order to further the ambit of improving health infrastructure, RAF Global has entered into long-term partnership with the same Hospital in Junagadh to set up a Thalassemia Wellness Centre in 2023. It would be the first step towards addressing Thalassemia in Junagadh and adjacent districts.
Besides this support, RAF Global in India has also provided large medical supplies to the Community Health Centres of several blocks of Junagadh district such as Malia Hatina, Mangrol, and Keshod during the 2nd wave of surge in Covid-19 cases. The organisation directly implements a wide portfolio of projects in Junagadh district covering areas such as Integrated Village Development, Economic Integration and Livelihood Support for Women & Youth, Education and Techology, Health and Nutrition Initiatives and Good Governance.
