‘School to Employment/ Apprenticeship’ is a project commissioned by World Bank and JP Morgan both under MDTF under the World Bank assisted project. The Multi-Donor Trust Fund would pilot, test, and learn from innovative instruments and approaches for quality reform in skills development and education to employment (school-to-work) transition programs in 2 states of Maharashtra and Rajasthan. Automotive Skill Development Council - ASDC was selected for innovative training programs which were futuristic in nature for the Automotive Industry.

Project Impact: The main objectives of the project have been met during the project implementation in following terms:
The industry, families of trainees at large and candidates themselves understood that training of girls will increase family income substantially and industry also believed that futuristic skills can easily be also met with female workforce and finally the girls gained confidence that they can support the family.While the overall project objectives were met, several aspects of the project have taken longer than anticipated when formulating the project. There was pandemic as soon the project was initiated and due to that nationwide lockdown was implemented, which delayed the complete project. When the project was reinitiated post first phase of pandemic; there was initial resistance that was faced from families afraid of pandemic. By the time the project was reinitiated, and training were initiated, there was a second wave of pandemic which stalled all the project activities. During this period training was blended in nature and digital training was introduced by the ASDC.
