Shakti- (Strengthening Menstrual Hygiene Management)

• Under Health and wellbeing, we have a program called Shakti for the empowerment of women. Recently we have collaborated with India Vision Foundation to spread awareness related to menstrual hygiene amongst female prison inmates. Family planning sessions are conducted in the community in collaboration with Pathfinder. Annual eye camps are organized at the project offices in partnership with HelpAge India. Medical check-up camps and blood donation drives  are also organized within the foundation for the benefit of the community.

• Menstrual Hygiene is vital to the empowerment and well-being of women and girls across the nation. It is about more than just access to sanitary pads and appropriate toilets – though those are important. It Is also about ensuring women and girls live in an environment that values and supports their ability to manage their menstruation, inculcate menstrual hygiene and its management as a right of women. Globally, at least 500 million women and girls lack proper access to Menstrual hygiene facilities.
• Keeping in focus United Nations’ Every Woman, Every Child initiative, Spark Minda Foundation is continuously working to empower women and girls through its Shakti initiative. It is a social initiative which envelopes improving women’s lives through improved health and hygiene, family planning and reproductive health knowledge among the vulnerable communities of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Haryana and Tamil Nadu. The initiative is aligned with SDG 3,5, 6, 11 and 17, where awareness is being raised for Menstrual hygiene and family planning by organising various camps in communities and multiple prisons in India.
• Shakti at the grassroots level Shakti in the community is the way to improve the health and hygiene of women by making them aware of various health aspects related to menstruation and family planning. This initiative is carried out with the
• The help of key stakeholders in the community, such as Asha workers, and Aanganwadi workers with NGOs working in the community.

Community Healthcare

• India, the second most populous country in the World is home an estimated 4.95 million blind persons and 70 million vision-impaired persons. In 1976 India became the first country to start a national programme to control blindness. All surveys in the country have shown that cataract is the most common cause of blindness, and all prevention of blindness programmes have been “cataract-oriented.” However, It has recently been recognised that the visual outcome of cataract surgeries has been less than ideal. There is now an increasing emphasis on high-quality surgery. Other important causes of blindness are refractive errors, Childhood blindness, corneal blindness, and glaucoma.
• In the financial year 2021-22, 5209 people benefited from our eye health camps conducted in the villages of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana, Tamil Nadu And Uttarakhand. During these camps, we cater to the rural population in and around the respective village; From children to senior citizens, this check-up campsite is available with no charges to anyone and everyone willing to get their eyes tested. The foundation has been catering to the eye Healthcare of the communities since 2016-17. To date, We have covered more than 13,000 people from these Camps. These people have either been provided with spectacles, eye drops, and medicines or have been referred for surgeries. Apart from this, there have been people who just had a routine eye check-up at these Camps.

• To create awareness of modern family planning methods amongst men and women and about the prevalence of STDs.
• To create awareness about what makes families happy and healthy.
• To promote the health of children by allowing sufficient time between pregnancies.
• To protect the health of women and educate them about high-risk pregnancies
• To raise awareness to stabilise population growth
• To support women’s rights and opportunities for education, employment and full participation in society

• Eye health care- to enhance the health of the eyes and prevent the community from suffering from any potential risk or diseases
• Community health check-ups- to enhance the health of people of the community and prevent the community from suffering from any potential risk or diseases
• Blood donation camp- to emphasise about the importance of blood donation and contributing towards “saving lives”
