Project Description

Village Social Entrepreneurs in Healthcare (FY:17-18-19)- To create health entrepreneurs & Seed, Incubate and Embed frontline health workers with digital diagnostic and provide economical diagnostic health tests quickly through HealthCube Ecosystem. HealthCube ecosystems have been deployed in various Govt healthcare systems so access to diagnostics can be provided in remote locations with real-time digitization.

Poshan Abhiyaan Anemia Mukt Bharat Program (FY:19-20)- A designed a CSR Program to Screening School Children for Anemia and build Community Health Entrepreneurs - with the objective of creating social health entrepreneurs (50 in number) to generate employment by enabling the entrepreneurs with adequate technology and support this screening of school adolescents from the age group between 11-19yrs (6th standard-11th standard students) for Anemia. Along with anemia screening, student counseling on nutritional values has also been a key to this program.

Covid Response System (FY:20-21)- COVID-19 infection is spreading in many parts of India and people of all ages are at risk for developing the infection, to address the oxygen shortage amid the Covid -19 outbreak, a program to deliver lifesaving medical oxygen to hospitals and covid war rooms was planned and executed.

Special Features of Project

  • Village Social Entrepreneurs - The project was implemented in 9 States Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan across India. Total 150 HealthCube ecosystems have been deployed across 20 districts. Under the project. 2 lakhs of people have availed of the facility and more than 4.3 lakhs of diagnostic tests have been conducted. Entrepreneurs deployed under the program generate a monthly remuneration of 8 to 10 k.
  • Poshan Abhiyaan Anemia Mukt Bharat- Under Vodafone Foundation this program was established in 5 states Uttarakhand, Bihar, Telangana, Chhattisgarh & Maharashtra, and 8 districts Pauri, Haridwar, Uttarkashi, Sitamarhi, Siddipet, Medak, Rajnandgaon & Gadchiroli across India. Although the program was impacted by COVID waves 1 & 2, due to collective & exemplary efforts jump-started the program by exploring various strategies and transition modules. Total registered under the program is over 3.5 Lakh with a total diagnostic count of over 8.5 Lakh. Upon this ongoing intervention, it is found that from the total target group reached so far 47% of the students are in anemic criteria.
  • Covid Response System- In the current pandemic situation, Vodafone Foundation took this initiative to bring forth the pillars (lifesaving equipment) to support the health infrastructure. Vodafone Foundation partnered with the Public Health Technologies Trust to deploy the assets to the target groups of partners 10 hospitals across India.
  • This project with Vodafone Foundation has brought great transformation in the health sector in the project areas. People have been found to be coming forward and getting the test done on their own and based on result diagnoses are being done in the nearest Public Health Centre. It has helped in creating e-health profiles of the people. Various state govt has accepted programs with open hands for their current health system and their impact on the local & rural communities was remarkable.
  • The goal is to make the project entirely sustainable by identifying qualified, motivated resource persons who can conduct the tests successfully while earning a livelihood for themselves. This model aims to provide an additional source of income to the Social Entrepreneurs (SE) and empower them. This will ensure the sustainability of the program.
