
BhaktiVedanta Hospital & Research Institute – A Project of Sri Chaitanya Seva Trust, located at Mira Road, Thane Dist. Is a fully focused on providing free/ affordable healthcare without compromise on quality. Trust has constructed 200 bed multi-specialty hospital - NABH Accredited Hospital. Trust has also done Outreach Camps: 400+ health camps in rural areas of Thane & Palghar districts. Over 1.45 lakhs patients screened and medicines distributed annually. Our Community Health Care center is a boon for the locals of Thane & Palghar districts.
Community Healthcare Services includes
Eye Care:
- Focus on eradication of needless blindness
- In Thane & Palghar districts, appx 39000 unmet Cataract surgeries p.a.
- During last 5 years, we have screened 2,23,200 patients and operated 39,329 surgeries free of cost
Activity:
- Camp location is identified.
- Initial survey of the patients and the socio economic status is assessed.
- Involvement of help from local community/ villagers/ sarpanch
- During the camp, patients are registered at the registration desk – demographic details are sought – proof of identification (Aadhar Card) is taken
- Patient’s vision is checked and recorded in the case-papers
- Identified patients are advised for cataract surgery
- Patients who don’t have cataract, are checked for refractive errors and are offered glasses at the camp site
- Patients are educated on hygiene, healthy eating habits and life-style management.
- Suspected patients are offered end-to-end solutions such as transportation, accommodation, hospitality, food, nursing care, etc free of cost for 3 days.
- The patients are operated for cataract surgeries and 40 days medicines are given.
- Post thorough examination and counseling, all the patients are dropped back to their villages by our hospital transport.
- Final post-operative evaluation is done at our satellite centers or at the nearest camps in the rural areas
Cancer Care:
- Every 1 in 4 men and every 1 in 3 women are bound to get cancer in their lifetime.

- By 2020 there will be almost 20 million new cancer cases.
- Intervention:
- Early detection through Mobile Cancer detection Van and save lives
- Free/ subsidized Investigation like Mammography, Colposcopy Endoscope , PAP’s Smear, etc
- Free and subsidized Surgeries at the base hospital for the needy camp patients
- During last 5 years, we have screened 46,890 patients and operated 1,142 surgeries free/ concessional rate
Kidney Care (Dialysis):
- For patients afflicted with Medical Renal disease (Dialysis), the cost of treatment is a daunting factor. Far from being a onetime medical expense, dialysis patients have to undergo treatment lifelong.
- On one hand they live a painful life & on the other hand they are deprived of their livelihood due to their precarious health condition.
- Trust has 11 Dialysis machines with the capacity to provide appx.12000+ dialysis per year. Dialysis is done at a free/ subsidized rate.
- During the last 5 years, trust has offered 46,580 dialysis at free/ concessional rate
Municipal School Children Health Check-up:
- Trust’s intention to conduct these camps has always been to offer quality healthcare & medical facilities to each and every child attending the school. Trust has identified disorders/diseases early in children & offer preventive & curative remedies in a holistic manner with correct diagnosis of the same.
- Trust has ran regular awareness drives at various schools thereby helping the societies being more informed about various health issues & disorders in children at an early stage in their lives.
- During the last 5 years, trust has done 20,135 health check-ups
Senior Citizens Care:
- For senior citizens health camps are held weekly in Keshav Shrusthi, MorvaGaon in Bhayander, Wada and in interior villages of rural and tribal belts of Thane & Palghar districts. Besides screening and investigations, we also do free treatment by admitting them in hospital
- During the last 5 years, trust has offered 15,250 health check-ups
Hospice & Palliative Care:
- Hospice / Palliative care experts believe that more than 7 million people suffer from pain and other symptoms due to such illnesses and conditions annually in India.
- Trust provides relief from pain, suffering and enhances quality and comfort to life, for patients having incurable diseases. To sum up, it provides a helping hand in the final journey.
- During the last 5 years, trust has rendered palliative care services to 7,305 patients
Spiritual Support System:
- Patients are diseased not only at the level of body but, also at mind and soul and thus, needs spiritual support system, irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
- During the last 5 years, trust has offered spiritual care to 66,116 patients

- Registered under USFDA for conducting Global Clinical Research
- 57 Research studies on various specialties like Ayurveda, Herbal Medicine, Nutraceuticals, and Community Health & Spiritual Care.
