Many people in Palghar, India live in forest areas and earn a daily wage from farming. Water is essential both for their livelihood and their personal household use. However, the villagers' source of drinking water was not potable. In collabration with L & T Hydrocarbon Engineering, Planet Water India Foundation responded to the need for clean water access by deploying three AquaTower systems along with Planet Water's Water-Health and Hygiene Education Program to Kalamdevi, Savne and Varvada communities in Palghar. These were installed in the local primary schools to make drinking and handwashing with soap accessible to children. In every school, a group of L&T volunteers helped the Planet Water Team install the AquaTower and teach students how to prevent germs from spreading. Quote from one of the volunteers - "I am fortunate to be able to serve the people and the nation today by helping improve the health of the community. The smiles of the children drinking clean water from the AquaTower indicate that we created a positive impact in their lives." Varad Kelkar, L&T Volunteer.
