Project Description

A four-year project, the program focuses on strengthening the village as a sustainable institution where the community takes ownership of its development. It empowers different stakeholders through awareness and capacity-building programs and encourages participation by contributing in terms of funding, labour, and time to make the community successful and sustainable. The community is empowered to bring about continued developments even after phase out through access to various government schemes and village development funds created by the community.

 

The core of our intervention would be to involve the community right from the beginning in planning, implementing, and monitoring the program so that they take ownership of the development process. A detailed baseline survey will be done on the following indicators before the inception of the project and indicators will be set accordingly.

Special Features of Project

  • The Integrated Development Ideal Village program aligns with the sustainable development goals of Good health and wellbeing (SDG-3), Quality Education (SDG 4), Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), and decent work and Economic growth (SDG- 08) to promote long term approach to address the global challenges.
  • 15 of our intervention villages have been recognized by the government for community participation in achieving total sanitation and creating an environment-friendly village. One of the villages Warandoli had received the Nirmal Gram Puraskar/ Ideal village award from President APJ Abdul Kalam in 2006.
  • PRIDE’s integrated program which has a holistic approach has a proven track record of sustaining the initiative through collective effort.
