Niwara Balgruha is one of the important projects of GVK, 57 children between the age group 6 to 18 years are living in the Niwara Balgruh. These are the most vulnerable children we found at the working sites in the Ahmednagar district. These children do not have shelter on their heads. They used to migrate from one village to another, hence the children could not pursue education, due to lack of food they became malnourished and were also involved in anti-social activities sometimes. GVK has established a shelter home through which we are providing the following services to these most neglected children. Niwara Balgruha provides the following services to the children:

Shelter: The children of the above-mentioned communities reside in tents, sometimes they have to stay under the sky with no facilities of electricity, water, bedding, etc. We decided to provide them with a good shelter facility where they can stay happy and grow with dignity and self-esteem. GVK has provided the dormitories and rooms to the beneficiaries as per age groups. Proper toilets and bathrooms are also provided.

Clothing : We provide two dresses for daily use and two school uniforms, one pair of GVK uniforms, and four pairs of innerwear. The useful old clothes donated by the people are also used to distribute among the students as per their size. Bedding with mattresses and blankets is provided to the students.

Health: Health is one of the important aspects for the students. Hence, we promote the

students to participate in sports and games. Students are being involved in daily exercise early in the morning i.e. yoga, pranayam, running, and karate. Cleanliness of the premises and their dormitories, toilets/baths is being observed keenly. Many medical practitioners help us with regular check ups and medication for the students.

Civilization: As the children are coming from such areas where they do not have access to the other communities, they follow the grownups in the areas who are already drug addicts, poachers, beggars, robbers and unfortunately they become the role model of these kids. Hence they are rarely found civilized during the admission to our Center. GVK is taking efforts to mold them into civilized and well-mannered personalities. caregivers try to change their behavior by introducing them to the prayers, the moral stories and values of life. Counselors help them to set their goals in life and forget the past. These children used to participate in public functions etc. to observe the behavior and manners of society along with the responsible staff.

Food: GVK is providing good quality vegetarian food to the beneficiaries. The food grains and grocery is being bought from reliable stores and never compromise with the quality. The trained cooks used to prepare the food, they provide hygienic and healthy food to the beneficiaries. The menu chart for every week is finalized with the consultation of our Medical Officer. Green vegetables, fruits, and milk are the key ingredients in daily food. GVK does not provide the food cooked outside to the children.

Education: The education is the key component of the rehabilitation; it's playing the role of

catalyst in their progress. Nowadays GVK is very particular about the education of these children. All the children above 4 yrs go to school every day. Caregivers monitor and evaluate the progress of the students and motivate them to do their best in their studies. They are also assisting the students in their studies. The students are taking part in the various school-level competitive exams. The teachers from other renowned schools are being invited to discuss with our students occasionally. GVK is promoting various innovative methods to create a deep interest in students in studies and schooling.
