Vivekanand Medical Foundation and Research Centre, Latur is a renowned   medical service, for over 4 decades. It is a multiple Superspeciality unit, under one umbrella organization. We are running a Superspeciality wing in the name Vivekanand Cancer Hospital (VCHL). It has a well organized service for cancer surgery, Radiation treatment, chemotherapy and allied management. Best of equipment and trained personnel are available for the services.It is recognized as a ‘Tertiary Care Cancer Centre, by the central Govt. About 150 - 175 patients take treatment daily, at the centre. Patients approach us from 7 - 8 neighbouring districts.

Patients who undergo radiation and / or chemotherapy, need no hospitalization. They however have to stay nearby to attend daily for 30 to 50 days. Since most of the patients come from remote places it is a problem where to stay. We have recently started construction for this purpose, just near our VCHL to help these ailing people. Since ours is an economically backward area, we propose to offer this facility at a meagre cost.

The project is rapidly progressing under construction on an area of 2 acres.The construction is handed over by authentic external agency Synergy Designs. The total proposed cost for this project is Rs. 9 crs.

We have been appealing philanthropic individuals and organizations for financial assistance. So far, we have collected about Rs. 2 Cr. for the purpose.We appeal to your esteemed organization for donation.

• The patients will take daily half an hour Radiation treatment 5 days from Monday to Friday.
• After Radiation the patients who need comfortable stay but having no residential facility in Latur city or at reasonable distance from hospital will be catered to the Sanatorium.
• The patients along with relatives will be provided comfortable accommodation in the premises of Sanatorium continuously for five days in a week or through the week as per requirement of the patient.
• During the stay they will be provided lunch and dinner as per the instructions of the concerned doctors totally free of cost.
• All the inmates will be provided hot water for bath and fresh drinking water.
• The patients will be provided facility of physiotherapy and YOGA therapy.
• All the inmates can avail the facility of entertainment like TV and indoor games in the recreation hall.
• The radiation treatment is given to the patients five days in a week and it is for four to six sessions depending on the severity of the disease. Approximately a patient has to take treatment for 1.5 month. During this period accommodation facilities will be made available for the patients and relatives.
• On conclusion of the radiation treatment the patients will have to vacate the accommodation.
• The institution is going to organise one day Cancer pre-check up medical camps in the premises.
• The institution is going to organise 2 - 3 days training camps for the nurses especially working for Cancer patients.
• The formal inauguration of the project was held on 25.11.2021 by the gracious hands of Hon. Minister Shri Nitinji Gadkari.
