Project Description

Integrating digital learning solutions in places that are off the radar is a breathtaking experience for us. East Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya is one such example. Students and teachers of schools in Meghalaya had no exposure to using technology for education. Therefore, the implementation and training of iPrep Digital Class were driven by the curiosity of teachers and students to learn and teach digitally.

20 smart classes in 20 schools of Meghalaya located on high terrains enabled personalized learning experiences for students and teachers. Additionally, the animated video lessons with real-life connections and MCQ-style practice questions with instant feedback preloaded on Pendrive led to instant use of smart class where some started practicing their already learned topic, and some explored lab video lessons to understand their science concepts better.  Not just this, students were also given access to the iPrep, which they downloaded on their parents' smartphones, and continued digital learning from home as well. This enabled a sense of excitement to revise what is being learned in class and also learn what has been missed in previous years.

Reach of the implementation:

  • State Covered: 1
  • Number of Schools reached: 20
  • Number of students impacted: More than 3500
  • Number of teachers impacted: More than 70

Project Type : CSR

Special Features of Project

  • Animated lessons and digital syllabus books aligned with Meghalaya Board made it easy for teachers to plan lessons they never had in their previous teaching style.
  • Topic-wise MCQ style practice questions spread a competitive vibe among students; they now conduct weekly quiz sessions by dividing themselves into groups of 2 or 3.
  •  All the schools now have an assessment period where they conduct an interactive session with the help of practice questions and choose a student who gave the majority of the right answers and acknowledge it by giving stars. This is further helpful for teachers and students because of the availability of mastery scores which helps them determine their understanding level of lessons.
  • Students accessing the iPrep at home have shown significant change in their learning habits; like who never liked concepts of maths and science are consuming most information from the lessons of the same subject.
  • Continuous monitoring on the reporting dashboard of class-wise usage increases students' interest in subjects they never liked.
