The Mobile 1000 programme is the flagship programme of the Wockhardt Foundation that seeks to provide rural primary healthcare to the villages of India. Sir Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, CEO of Wockhardt Foundation pioneered this program to bridge the glaring gaps in the delivery of healthcare services to rural India. Mobile 1000 is currently operating 114 Mobile Medical Clinics across 15 states of India. The program is implemented in collaboration with reputed partners in both the public and private sectors of the country. Amongst the Public Sector Units (PSUs), Wockhardt Foundation is working with reputed companies like GAIL, HPCL, SAIL, BHEL, RCF, IOCL, etc. With its vast outreach and quality care, the Mobile Medicare Unit system has proven to be instrumental in addressing the needs of rural areas, particularly the vulnerable and disadvantaged communities in the low-income and marginalized populations in under-served areas. Each Mobile Van is equipped with a Doctor, Pharma, Lady ANM, Lab Technician, and Community Mobiliser. The Van is equipped with medicines, healthcare equipment, and consumables.

Community Motivator &/Coordinator: The presence of people from within the community gives the Mobile 1000 program a competitive advantage in terms of outreach and mobilization of communities. Not only does it help mobilize more people but it also helps expand the outreach of the program.
Weekly Awareness Sessions: The Mobile 1000 program places due to emphasis on awareness. To educate communities and to gradually make them responsible for their health, awareness sessions are held every week. These sessions are highly interactive and IEC (Information, Education & Communication) material relevant to the material is distributed in the regional language.
