Overall idea of the project is to “enhance the farm productivity and income, of the local community specially targeting the women producers through extension of technologies, improved agronomic practices and building up of appropriate institutional mechanisms” for managing an effective and efficient supply chain of agriculture produces.
The proposed project would focus on development of a package of scientific practices/demonstrating an extension model around main vegetables and other crops (Red Chili and main cash crops):
1. Introduction of a model of intensive but sustainable agriculture, which would be based on scientifically, proven methods and technologies.
2. Extension of technologies and improved agronomic practices to increase the yield and quality of Red chilli and other crops.
3. Building appropriate institutional mechanisms for aggregation and marketing
4. The project will work with entrepreneurs and community organizations for the implementation of field activities. It will link and converge with government programs where possible as well as partner with stakeholders like NABARD, Krishi Vigyan Kendra/ Agriculture department for providing technical assistance from time to time and make available necessary farming inputs as per the project requirements.
5. Screen, identify and deliver appropriate rural Agribusiness services (skill training, entrepreneurship training, financial linkage, critical input supply, value addition, and market linkage) to enhance and diversify the farm-based income.
6. Enhance capacity –knowledge, skills and attitude-of 1000 farming household to increase the productivity of land, farm crops, reduce the cost of production and realize better market prices through improved value addition and better market negotiation with efficient supply chain management.
7. Creating a robust business team and building its capacity to deliver requisite agri-business services efficiently and effectively
8. Establishment of post-harvest and processing units in key identified products, which has market potential.
9. Formation and strengthening farmer producer organization for sustainable delivery of agri-business services.
10. Creating and building the capacity of the Board of Governors and producers for effective governance and management of the enterprise.
