REAL in partnership with Plan International (India) and Eaton Technologies have implemented the comprehensive model school project with the purpose of promoting quality remedial education system for the period from February 2019 to June 2022. The project works with identified 10 schools / 30 villages to bring key changes and positive impact on all round development of schools as per the requirements of RIE provisions.

The details of activities implemented at School and Village level to promote the project goals are as per below:

l At School Level: Creating child friendly class rooms, child safety audit & risk mapping, remedial classes to promote age appropriate learning level, trainings on sports tool kits etc.

l At Village Level: Creating awareness on health and hygiene, RtE Act and community level sensitization on importance of education, food and nutrition etc.

Under promoting infrastructure facilities at schools, we have completed the renovation of toilets, hand wash systems, drinking water, library and science lab facilities in 10 schools. Over the years, the project has well reached among school children, teachers, parents, community members, stakeholders, local village authorities, Government officials and Education Department.  

Some of the project impacts include:

l The concept of remedial education widely acknowledged by schools and various training adopted by our team and government teachers have been supportive to reach out to 1010 children to improve their learning skills.

l Infrastructure Facilities at Schools : Improved access to water, sanitation, and hygiene services were appreciated by parents and schools which again pave way for the children to have a conducive learning environment.

l Setting up of science lab/library and child-friendly classrooms: The project has recreated the surrounding with coloring and artwork that reached the children, and they were so glad to have a well-furnished classroom with science lab kits to experiment and new library books to read.

l Street Play and Film Show (RTE / Health and Nutrition), This scenario also reached a good number of communities and are aware of RTE, health, and nutrition.
