NMCT implemented the project “FORD Happy School” in five selected schools in Coimbatore district, Tamilnadu. The project, supported by Ford Motors from January 2018 to January 2020, envisaged a sustainable change in the selected five schools towards better learning, healthy practices, and improved facilities for children.
The project, “Healthy, Educated, and Nurtured Rural Youth FOR Delightful India (HENRY FORD) was designed to strategically address a few objectives of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) like Good Health and Well-Being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation.
Overall, the interventions through this project aimed at providing sustainable school transformation in the five schools to ensure better learning opportunities and physical environment. Specifically, the project aimed to create ideal learning environment for children by promoting, in addition to learning skills, health and hygienic practices and improving facilities such as campus infrastructure, toilets, and water.
