Eye health plays a significant role in humans' day to day life. India holds the second place with the largest number of visually impaired population across the world. Cataract and Refractive error plays a major role in Vision problems.Weaver's eye screening outreach programme:- The main objective of this project is to ensure a sustainable eye health in weaver's community. We conducted this project in the Tamilnadu region with the support of Handloom weavers Society. Under this project, weaver's and their families are benefited by our eye care service. We improved their working ability and quality of vision by giving them eyeglasses and for surgical guidance or major treatments, we referred them to the hospitals in partnership with us.
