Rohini Foundation has established itself as an NGO for social work that focuses mainly on different healthcare projects across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Rohini Foundation works to improve access to quality health care services for children and poor and marginalized communities.
- Recently Rohini Foundation partnered with Virchow foundation for the project "For Better Oral Health" which focuses on the health of government school children and communities. We have conducted dental screening for 6950 government school children and health screening for 3000 community people at RC Puram, Jinnaram, Jadcherla & Mahabubnagar, Addakal, and Serilingampally Mandal.
- As a part of the screening program, Dental screening was done on the children and oral hygiene kits were distributed. Awareness regarding oral health was created. Students were educated about common dental problems and measures to prevent them. Awareness was created about the right eating patterns and food choices.
- For adults above 20 along with the dental screening, they were monitored for Hypertension and Diabetes. Around 10% of the total people screened were diagnosed to be diabetic for the first time and they are unaware of their condition.
- Awareness was created among them about the effects of high blood pressure on cardiovascular health and the effects of high blood sugar levels on other parts of the body like the eyes and kidneys. With the help of our health screening programs, the proper diagnosis was done. It helped the children and their parents understand the severity of Oral diseases and their impact on overall health.
- Diabetic toothpaste was distributed to the patients with high blood glucose levels to control gum problems which are seen predominantly in diabetic patients.
