Tata Steel Meramandali observes World Health Day

To raise awareness about the ongoing health issues and well-being of people, Tata Steel Meramandali observed World Health Day with the theme ‘Our Planet, Our Health’ at its Narendrapur plant in Dhenkanal district. On this occasion, various competitions such as recipe making, poster competition and paragraph writing were organised amongst the employees, their spouses, and children. Special screening sessions on Dermatology, Dental issues and anaemia were organised for the employees and their family members.   

 

The highlight of the day though, was the 2 kilometres long Walkathon organised inside the housing colony of the plant, where more than 300 enthusiastic employees, children and family members participated.  

 

Sandeep Dhir, Chief, Human Resource Business Partner, Agam Kumar, Chief, Safety, Amit Kumar, Chief, Iron Making and Amar Bountra, Chief, Coke Oven 2 graced the occasion and flagged off the Walkathon. At the end of the walkathon, the winners of the various competitions were felicitated by the dignitaries. The programme was coordinated by the Medical Services team of Tata Steel Meramandali.
