The company has in the Financial Year 2019-20 assisted the Tata Translational Cancer Research Center at the Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata, in creating a better future for patients with cancer in India. The company’s aim is to develop personalized treatments, diagnostics, and monitoring tools for these patients. Since November 2016, the company has also been providing IT support to the National Oncology Digital Nerve Center. Key services include instant messaging support, telemedicine, and virtual follow-ups. TCS also provides a fully-integrated hospital management system free of cost to the Cancer Research Institute at Chennai. The company has set up Digital Impact Square (DISQ), an open innovation center based out of Nashik to create social impact through the use of inclusive design and digital technologies. NMDC Limited in the Financial Year 2019-20 has contributed towards free treatment at Project Hospitals, Hospital on Wheels (mobile medical vans), Medical Camps, Visits of Project Hospital Doctors and Para medical staff to the Villages. It has also contributed by constructing Medical Drugs Godown & Electrification works, Sub Health Centres, upgradation works in PHC and Sub Health Centre, special care for patients provided fruits, nutritious diet, provided specialist Doctors, and full facilities accommodation for patient relatives/attendants and supply of CT Scan machine. It has taken the initiative in arranging medical doctors and specialists for organizing health camps. They also made provision of Solar Plants in 180 health centres & Solar Maternity cum Mother care Kits in 393 Health centres, provided financial support to reduce the prevalence of Malnutrition & Anemia among children and Adolescent girls & women of reproductive age group. They introduced a Menstrual Health Management programme called ‘Mehrar-Cho-Maan’ where by self-help groups of women are engaged in the production and distribution of sanitary napkins in the district of Dantewada. Besides, providing livelihood opportunity to around 120 women in production and distribution of sanitary napkins, the initiative is benefitting around 22,000 girls & women in terms of better awareness w.r.t. Menstrual Hygiene, besides providing low cost & bio-degradable sanitary napkins. NMDC provided financial assistance to the District Administration, Bellary District, Karnataka for setting up COVID -19 treatment facilities in the District Hospital, Bellary. They also distributed essential supplies to needy people residing around NMDC Projects, including kerosene to the migrant labour around its upcoming steel plant in Nagarnar. Livelihood opportunities were created for 120 women, 22000 girls and women benefitted through menstrual hygiene programme

HPCL has in the Financial year 2019-20 carried out various projects and contributed towards the healthcare area. Project Dhanwantari focuses on providing basic healthcare facilities and services in remote rural areas and urban communities through 25 Mobile Medical Vans. The Mobile Medical Van facility reaches at the doorsteps of people in the remote rural and urban locations. The majority of beneficiaries are women, children and elderly whose general health is neglected due to poverty and lack of resources and awareness. Project Dil without Bill supports heart surgeries, free of cost, for people with heart ailments from low-income group, particularly children. Health camps are organized to raise awareness and identify patients with heart ailments. This project has given life and hope to thousands of families over the years. Through this project, 600 successful heart surgeries were carried out in this financial year. Project Suraksha focuses on prevention of HIV/AIDS among truckers and surrounding communities by educating them about safe-sex practices and providing diagnosis and treatment of STIs through seven ‘Khushi’ clinics on highways.

5. Project REACH

Torrent Power’s flagship programme ‘REACH’ is divided into three sub programmes; Shaishav, Jatan and Muskan. Shaishav targets to establish baseline health status of children in age group of 6 months to 6 years, through medical camps in 372 villages surrounding the industrial establishments of the Group. Jatan encompasses provision of healthcare services to children upto 18 years through 4 state of the art pediatric primary healthcare facilities and mobile OPD vans, in areas where Group’s industrial facilities are located. The programme was extended during the year by building a state-of-the-art 150 bed pediatric hospital “Balsangam”. The hospital, inaugurated in February 2020, will provide free-of-cost OPD and in-patient services and is eventually planned to be established as a center of excellence in secondary and tertiary pediatric care in multiple super specialties. “Balsangam” is expected to benefit children residing in about 500 villages in a radius of 40 kms. Muskan targets at providing counselling and support to rural adolescent girls covering menstrual hygiene and sanitation, by providing free health and hygiene kits. The project has Impacted various beneficiaries; around 277 supplementary camps spanning 351 villages were conducted to screen 12,619 children. Aggregate 1,471 children having chronic illnesses have benefitted from the programme since initiation. For the year 2019-20, 1,37,297 children benefited from the services of these pediatric centers and associated mobile OPD vans. About 6,000 adolescent girls from 125 villages, between 11-18 years of age were provided kits on monthly basis during the year. 41,230 villagers from 351 supplementary camp villages and 65,737 children from 493 primary schools have benefited from the sessions.

IOCL left no stone unturned in helping the country combat COVID-19 pandemic, by ensuring supply of essential petroleum products & services during the nationwide lockdown apart from providing essential medical facilities & equipment and distribution of relief materials to the underprivileged people, who were worst hit by the crisis all across the nation. Under IndianOil Karmayogi Swasthya Bima Yojana, IndianOil provided Health Insurance coverage (for 1 year) to about 3,23,000 personnel, who had been working round the clock in maintaining essential services at various customer touch points viz., Retail Outlets, LPG Distributors, various other service providers, etc., during the lockdown. Moreover, masks, sanitizers, food packets, gloves, PPEs among other items that include ventilators, ICU cots, soap/liquid hand wash, mosquito nets, gum boots, IR temperature guns, testing kits and related consumables, etc., were provided/ distributed by IndianOil units across the country. Food and clothing were also distributed to stranded labourers, daily wage-workers, and homeless families.
