CCIF had till the beginning of financial year 2017-18 covered over 570 villages. Its activities had benefitted a population of over 750,000. CCIF had completed construction of over 180 water conservation structures and had created a potential storage capacity of 16.0+ billion litres of water. Additionally, over 20 water conservation structures were under various stages of construction. CCIF had distributed over 20,000 solar lanterns (mobile units), electrified over 9,000 households with fixed units in the remotest parts of India and had trained over 250 women on fabrication of solar lanterns.
During the financial year 2017-18, CCIF continued to work in the areas of water replenishment and reached out to new geographies which are in need of such interventions in the southern and western parts of the country. Through 9new projects approved for implementation in 2017-18 (3 from CCIF and 6 from TCCF, Atlanta), CCIF in partnership with local community will further construct over 55 water harvesting structures to create an additional storage capacity of 2.7 Billion litres of water annually and reached out to over 40 villages and over 70,000 additional villagers. It completed construction of over 50 water conservation /re-charge structures (check dams, gabion structures, farm ponds, earthen bunds, renovation and de-silting of existing ponds) and created an additional storage capacity of more than 2.5 billion litres of water.
