The Company has carried out Water Replenishment projects in Ludhiana and Amritsar.
In Ludhiana:
Punjab being an agricultural state and water being an important factor for agriculture, CCIPL planned its water replenishment initiatives with an objective to harvest maximum rain water. The target two villages are Jaspalon and Madiala Kalan in Ludhiana. The project includes deepening and desilting of 3 existing ponds, construction of inlet and outlet of the ponds and constructing recharge pits to harvest 22,200 m3 of rain water. The interventions on ground have been planned in close association with local communities and the Gram Panchayat. The project will directly benefit 556 families in village Jaspalon and 351 families in village Madiala Kalan (approximately 4,092 individuals).
In Amritsar:
Under the gamut of water replenishment initiatives, CCIPL has developed a water conservation project in consultation with the local governments, community and other key stakeholders in the spirit of the golden triangle approach. The project will target six villages namely - Janian, Bandala, Dharar, Meharbanpura, Balia Majpur and Nijjarpura in Amritsar. The project is for deepening and desilting of 5 existing ponds, construction of inlet and outlet for these structures and construction of recharge pits over next one year to replenish 47,700 m3 of rain water to benefit over 3,500 families.
