The “Sony Model Village development” is an integrated village development model focusing and contributing to develop sustainable rural economy. The village project is a combination of both technology and community development activities in the areas identified by Sony India as below

•Infrastructure development : This includes improvement of Sewerage, Solid waste Management and drainage facilities, cleansing of village warter bodies, solar lighting of roads, providing dustbins, solar lamps for poor children, renovation of vetenary hospital etc).

•Youth Skill Development: As part of its CSR initiative, SONY has established a Center of Excellence at Alawalpur, which offers skill-development training to youth in trades such as Computer Application, Mobile Repairing, Beautician and Stitching.

•Women Empowerment: Being facilitated by self help group promotion & empowerment through establishment of Center of Excellence for training individuals on stitching & beautician courses to enable them have a self reliant & independent career opportunity. Focus on women empowerment is planned as empowered women at Alawalpur can take the entire community forward.

•Agriculture development: Being facilitated by promotion of the Kisan club, initiatives through horticulture and kitchen garden development, construction of vermi-compost units etc.

•Health & Nutritional Awareness: Periodic Health camps being organised which included general health camps, paediatric health camps & gyane camps for women.

•Better Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Services: Through periodic cleanliness drives, garbage disposal, organizing awareness rally on sanitation & health etc. Also water coolers & toilet facilities have been arranged for the local school.

•Promoting Rural sports: Being done by supporting rural sports like wrestling, kabaddi & athletics at local level by promoting sporting events & providing sport teachers.

•Community engagement: Initiatives to bring heterogeneous communities together by screening of sports events where individuals from all communities come together, engagement with villagers during national festivals, meeting of SONY CSR members with the panchayat & village development communities were organised.
