A graduate in economics with Post Graduation in communication, Sumeer has over 19 years of experience. He has worked in both Mumbai Delhi, for leading agencies including Lowe Lintas, JWT, DDB and Y&R. He has led Regional and Global strategic responsibilities for Unilever brands (Fair & Lovely, Lifebuoy Shampoo, Clinic All Clear) for South Asia South East Asian markets. This entailed understanding different cultures from a consumer perspective and market perspective, and understanding communication works in different geographies. He has also worked across categories that range from telecom (Airtel Aircel), automobiles (Tata Motors, Royal Enfield), FMCG (Unilever, Colgate Palmolive, Mcvities Marico and Unicharm), household appliances and home electronics (Microsoft, Midea), social sector campaigns (USAID, CHAI, UNICEF), airlines (Kingfisher airlines, Spice jet), hospitality (Taj Hotels resorts), and sports (Adidas) and beverages (Bira Beer).

Heer leads the Development Sector work at Edelman and oversees communications planning and implementation for development sector organizations and corporates that are interested in sustainability and purpose-driven campaigns. She brings over 20 years of communication experience in the not-for-profit sector and has been with Edelman for over 5 years. She has worked with bilateral agencies and donor organizations such as WHO-PMNCH, UNICEF, UN Women, European Union and USAID/India; International and National foundations and consulting firms such as Tata Trusts, Plan India, IPE Global, ASMAN Alliance, Population Foundation of India, Ford Foundation, Development Alternatives Incorporated, International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, Plan India, Xynteo, ASMAN Alliance, The India Nutrition Initiative, FREND Foundation, RTI International India, World Vision India, Vision Impact Institute, Centre for Digital Financial Inclusion, Ashoka Changemakers, Magic Bus, Aurora Prize for Humanity, amongst others. Within the development sector she has worked on issues that include public health and nutrition, education, gender equity, financial inclusion, sustainable agriculture, social justice, leadership, and many more for the above clients. She has also provided public health, nutrition, education and sustainability related expertise to Edelman’s corporate clients including Hindustan Unilever, Tata Chemicals, PepsiCo, PuBG, CBRE, Boston Scientific, Cloudnine Hospitals, Canola Council of Canada, Find Diagnostics, Eli Lilly, Sanofi, Astrazeneca, Mylan, Janssen, HUL, and Kimberly Clark. Heer joined Edelman after being employed with Palladium (formerly Futures Group), where her profile included creating and managing large and small-scale strategic behavior change communication campaigns and projects in public private partnership. She has worked with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India; State Health Departments of Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh; Ministry of Health & Population, Government of Nepal; USAID and other national level NGOs and academic institutes. Prior to that Heer has worked for Johns Hopkins University- Centre for Communication Programs; Sesame Workshop India’s educational television show Galli Galli Sim Sim and its education outreach projects; and Urban Child Survival Program for Counterpart International.
