Enabling Circular Economy by Better Waste Management

Rishi has had a passionate engagement with environmental and sustainability issues over two decades, beginning as a vocal grassroots activist and moving on to work with and founding a number of NGOs. His work centres around advocacy for incorporating sustainability best practices in all aspects of urban functioning. He is Director of Mumbai Sustainability Centre.

Ram heads environmental sustainability for Godrej Industries and Associate Companies and is responsible for driving the Group’s green strategy. He has 12 years of experience in the sustainability sector, across a wide range of roles from regulatory/policy, to process engineering, operations, strategy advisory, business development, business strategy, and product development and management.

A post graduate environmentalist, Shalini is a Climate Change visionary. She has been actively working in sustainability and developed a Zero Waste program which helps entities to reduce their Carbon-Footprint. Her ‘Project Zero’ made headlines when it was awarded by the Uttarakhand State govt. An active social worker, she has several awards that add to her laurels. She has been recognized and awarded by Social Founder; London, Global Goodwill Ambassador; the US, ICUNR; India. Currently, working as an advisor in Sustainability and Circular Economy, she is chairing the International Council for Circular Economy. An active speaker, she takes up initiatives in promoting educational opportunities, leadership development, entrepreneurship and empowerment of youth and women. She is associated with MSME as Influencer 2019 in the Circular Economy sector and with Delhi Govt on their Entrepreneurship Mindset program. She is a mentor to 7 woman-led enterprises. Her first book happens to be the first book on ‘Circular Economy’ in India.

Sandeep Patel is an entrepreneur who is the founder and CEO of NEPRA. NEPRA is a technology-driven City based Waste Management Business Model, integrating all the stakeholders of the waste management system, bringing in transparency, structure, traceability and playing a significant role in take-back programs under EPR- Extended Producer Responsibility. The model is formed on the basis of circular economy, aiming at Zero Waste to Landfill. NEPRA has created a value chain for both, recyclables and non-recyclables benefiting the bottom of pyramid. Dr Shilpi is Associate Environmental Consultant with 7 years of project design and development experience in integrated water resources management and SLWM. Well proven skills in planning, designing, technology selection and evaluating sustainable development plans, water resources management proposals, Solid & Liquid waste management plans, including waste disposal and conservation practices and deciding action plans in line with the applicable regulatory programs and guidelines. Strong research professional with well demonstrated history of working in the research industry. Skilled in Applied Chemistry, Materiel Science, Environmental Technologies, Sustainable Development, Solid & liquid Waste Management and Clean & Hybrid Energy Harnessing Infrastructure.
