Industry-Academia Collaborations Aligning with the New Education Policy 2020 through CSR

Suresh is an Engineer from the Mysore University and is a home grown product of Bosch, with 34 years of experience. Starting as a Technical Management Trainee, he has worked in different functional roles in R&D, Manufacturing, Head of Quality for Bosch Ltd. and Plant Manager of Bangalore Plant and Head of Operations, prior to his current role. 30% of his roles have also been in Germany and in the US. He moved to HR function from Aug 2014. He is currently the CHRO for Bosch India with 10 different legal entities. His interests are Mentoring and Coaching for Leadership development, Promoting Business Excellence in a practical manner, Lean Manufacturing. He is currently Convenor of Skilling panel and has previously served as convenor of People Excellence Panel in the CII Karnataka State Council.

Prof O R S Rao has over 45 years of experience in Industry , Academia and Applied Research. He has been associated with setting up and growing a number of Institutions in India and abroad. Prof Rao worked in senior roles in reputed organisations, which include BHEL, HCL Technologies, NIIT and GMR Group. He has been working with the ICFAI Group for the last 18 years and has been actively involved in various initiatives like setting up Business Schools, Applied Research and Consulting Unit .

In the current role, Rumi is driving strategy and partnership to introduce global program in India, with a focus on digital platforms for learning. In her previous role, as the Head of CSR for IBM India, South Asia, Rumi was leading the CSR function, responsible for designing and executing the India portfolio to align with the Govt of India 2% CSR law, building large scale education and skills development initiatives in collaboration with the central ministries and state government in India. She has designed and initiated IBM flagship programs like STEM for Girls for govt schools running across 10 states, along with large scale impactful programs to build new age technology and professional skills in youth.

Shri Dipan Sahu started his career as a social entrepreneur and then turned to a policy-entrepreneur having more than 10 years of experience in policy design, implementation in the domain of innovation, and startup ecosystem development in Higher Educational Institutions. He is working on a mission to make Indian higher educational institutions innovative and entrepreneurial through conducive policy interventions. He is currently serving as Asst. Innovation Director at Innovation Cell of Ministry of Education (MoE) housed at All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

Dr Debanjan Chakrabarti is Director British Council East and Northeast India. He has over 18 years of experience in leading education, development and cultural collaboration programmes in India and internationally for the British Council. In his present role he leads on all of British Council’s work in education and cultural relations in East and Northeast India, covering 13 states, and Bhutan.
