CSRBOX has been hosting the annual India CSR Summit for the past 7 years. The Summit has been the largest CSR and social impact event in the South Asia region with participation of 1800 organisations and 2400+ delegates every year.

At the 8th India CSR Summit 2021 (7th-9th Dec 2021), we hosted panel discussion on 'Measuring Impacts to Benchmarking of CSR Projects: Going Beyond Compliance', with following speakers:

  • Moderator: Dr K.K. Upadhyay, Professor & Chairperson, Centre for Sustainability & CSR (BIMTECH)
  • Ms. Urvashi Prasad, Director, Development Monitoring & Evaluation Office (DMEO), NITI Aayog
  • Mr. Ashwini Saxena, CEO, JSW Foundation
  • Mr. Rochak Bhardwaj, Head-Corporate Communications & CSR, Shyam Metalics Ltd.
  • Ms. Monica Jain, Head CSR, BALCO
  •

During this insightful discussion, the speakers shared their learnings, thoughts and experiences around the following points:

  • How to identify the adequate social and sustainability issues to tackle in CSR project design?
  • How to track and measure impacts of CSR projects? What are the key metrics and tools available for standardising the impact measurement approach and developing a common framework for future interventions?
  • How do we build capacities of implementation partners to think, design and implement projects with impact measurement at the centre of project design?
  • With the mandatory CSR impact assessment of projects, how do companies look at the 'theory of change' with a more granular approach?
  • Should companies and implementation partners look at benchmarking of projects with sectoral peers?
