Nand Ghar Strengthens Jharkhand Presence with 300 Centres
In a significant step towards strengthening grassroots development and community empowerment, Nand Ghar, Vedanta’s flagship social impact initiative focused on transforming anganwadis into modern centres of excellence, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the WCD Department in Koderma, Jharkhand. The MoU was formalized in the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Union Minister of Women & Child Development, Smt. Annapurna Devi, and District Collector, Koderma, Shri Rituraj (IAS).
The agreement marks a strong collaborative commitment to enhancing the well-being of rural communities in the district. With an existing presence of 150 Nand Ghars in Bokaro district, this partnership further strengthens Nand Ghar’s footprint in Jharkhand, marking a significant expansion into Koderma.
Under this partnership, 150 Nand Ghars will be developed across Koderma, serving as modernized centres dedicated to holistic rural development. These Nand Ghars will provide improved access to nutritious meals for children, early childhood education, primary healthcare services, and sustainable livelihood opportunities for women.
Speaking on the occasion, District Collector, Shri Rituraj (IAS), stated, “This partnership marks a significant step towards strengthening grassroots service delivery in Koderma through impactful CSR initiatives. The development of 150 Nand Ghars by Vedanta will enhance access to quality nutrition, early childhood education, healthcare, and women-centric livelihood opportunities, ensuring holistic community development across the district.”

This initiative aims to strengthen the existing anganwadi ecosystem by integrating technology, infrastructure, and community participation, thereby creating a sustainable model for rural transformation.
