Center for Development Orientation and Training (CDOT) is a not for profit organisation, established in the year 2000. It works in the domain of community health, women empowerment, skill development, livelihood, financial inclusion, water and sanitation and other areas of development. CDOT is a registered society in the year 2000. We have a corporate office at Spaze it park, sector 49, Gurugram, Haryana. The head office is in Patna, Bihar. Currently, CDOT operates in 10 states of India. Over the years, the organisation rendered its services directly to 6.6 million beneficiaries across the country through financial inclusion intervention.
CDOT runs Women centric Community Health Project in the rural of Bihar and Jharkhand to support and provide home based care, tele-consultation services to 1. 2 lakhs direct households through 900 rural women as Community Health Facilitators in 11 districts of Bihar and Jharkhand.
CDOT has been instrumental in creating awareness on Digital and Financial Literacy to women across India. It has trained many rural women as Business Correspondents to operate independently. CDOT has established a wide network of 500 successful Women Business Correspondents in six states of India. They operate independently by doing a monthly transaction of 30-40 lakhs and earning a decent livelihood for themselves and family.

Our Goals:
- To improve the quality of life of the rural poor women and their families through increased access to health, nutrition, education, services and productive assets.
- To establish a cost-effective and accessible alternative credit delivery system at the door step for working women in the rural areas.
- To enhance the capacity of rural poor women in undertaking activities, contributing towards actualization of the above said objectives through collectively owned and managed institution building.
- To introduce innovative strategies for program execution for achieving optimum results.
- To provide supportive role & functions in Govt. run development programs. This includes providing training in need assessment, orientation in development perspectives, training to develop financial and management skills and evolving systems to supervise and monitor the program on a regular basis.
- To build strategic alliances with Govt. agencies for directly implementing the Govt. programs or to leverage resources from other donor agencies to supplement ongoing Govt. programs by additional interventions needed either to enrich the program or to plug gaps in the program.
- To develop a resource center catering the needs of voluntary agencies, development workers, government / semi-government agencies, private companies and freelance professionals engaged in development activities.
- To produce relevant reading and training materials, organize seminars and workshops, and to undertake training assignments through this center.
- To promote capacity building of voluntary agencies, assisting them in obtaining technical expertise and training inputs.

In collaboration with Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM), CDOT has been implementing
the Kushal Yuva Program and running 9 centers in 4 districts -Sheohar, Patna, Nalanda, and Gaya
of Bihar under seven Nischay programs of the Government. Through this program, we have
trained 13491 students (Girls-8770 and Boys-4721) and placed 1316 students in different sectors
of employment
? CDOT has created a huge impact in the life of the poor and marginalized. In the Financial
Inclusion domain, we reached out to 6.1 million clienteles and have been working with Public
sector banks, Private bank and Regional Rural Banks. In the financial year 2022-23, CDOT has
helped 2.1 lakh women in opening their personal account through our BC channel
? CDOT created an ecosystem of Community Health through its 900 CHFs (Community Health
Facilitator) in eight districts of Bihar and Jharkhand, i.e. Patna, Bhojpur, Nalanda, Nawda, Gaya
in Bihar and Hazaribagh, Bokaro and Dhanbad in Jharkhand, with the donor support. Our CHFs
have given home-based care and training to around 4.5 lakh people. In the project, we had
aimed to administer 1 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccinations. Out of which we have administered
82316 doses in Bihar and 52199 doses in Jharkhand. In the vaccination camp, we have
vaccinated 51504 males, 48377 female as well as 34634 children in the project. Most of our
CHFs have sold all the stock of the sanitary pads that they had bought and tele-consultation
services have started at over 300 CHF centers in Bihar. The vision is to build a culture of health
through the establishment of a sustainable community support system
? CDOT is a leading service provider in finance, healthcare, and technological solutions. We have
moved towards a “Paperless Culture” and for that, we are developing a software for all our
work to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the work
? CDOT through banks and financial institutions ventured out into the sector of demand-based
loans, for instance health loans, sanitation loans, housing loans, education loans, etc., which are
not easily available to the rural marginalized community. We have partnered with other
institutions like LIC housing and Loanwiser to create a platform where people can get whatever
loans they want through an app
? CDOT was the first aggregator of the PFRDA in Bihar. CDOT covered 40000 people for NPS
Lite/Swavalamban scheme for the FY 2012-13. CDOT is currently operating as POP (Point of
Presence) for Pension schemes
? CDOT partnered to construct 5000 safe sanitation systems in 100 villages of two blocks Chandi
and Nagarnaausa in Nalanda District, Bihar. The project aimed for a behavioral change towards
sanitation practices among communities in unserved villages

It implements the Business Correspondence Model of RBI in different states of India and serves more than 60 lakhs rural customers. Also supports beneficiaries into the enrolment of National Social Security Schemes under PMJDY. The organisation works in other domains like women empowerment, health, Water,hygiene and Sanitation, Skill Development and so on.
CDOT has initiated Women centric Community Health Project in the rural of Bihar and Jharkhand to support and provide home based care, tele-consultation services to 4.5 lakhs of beneficiaries through training and promoting women community health facilitators. 900 women from the rural community have been trained and positioned as Community Health Facilitators in 11 districts of Bihar and Jharkhand. CDOT has been striving to create a pull of women entrepreneurs by developing community health entrepreneurs and sustaining their income through tie-ups with e-commerce and other service providers in the rural areas.

Though we have created a niche through empowering rural women as community health service providers and a positive change agent in the rural health system. There is a need to replicate this model for an extensive and comprehensive intervention in terms of awareness creation, training, safety nets availability and affordability and building an eco-system of community health practices.
