A bridge of Socio- Economic upliftment and Pioneer of “Low Carbon Farming/ Sustainable Farming” Society for Upliftment of Villagers & Development of Himalayan Areas (SUVIDHA) has worked to revolutionalize the traditional farming methods with “pro farmer – pro environment” methodologies since its inception in the year 2004. Reaching more than 10,000 marginalized families in our journey, SUVIDHA has brings the holistic change, in socio-economic and geographical front working on the causes of, Climate Change, Low Carbon Farming, Women Empowerment, Livelihood Upgradation, Health and Capacity Building.

In sustainable agriculture & best livelihood practices, our present focus is to develop FiGs, SHGs and promote certified organic farm produce to benefit the farmer. For women & girls empowerment we have also setup a looming unit to train handloom production and products. We have initiated a baseline survey to determine the type of Clean Development Mechanism. One of them linked to rural energy sector by biogas and woodstoves. The other aspect of CDM is to take up Low Carbon Farming in time to come. Presently SUVIDHA is working with 35,000 farmers.
