Gramin Vikas Kendra, Jamkhed, is a Non-Profit Organization/ Trust. Registered under the Society Registration Act,1860 and Bombay Public Trust Act,1950 in 1995. Since we are working for the Tribal, (Pardhi, Bhilla) nomadic tribes(Bhatake,Vimukta),marginalized communities, migrated communities(bricks Workers, sugar cutting workers) nomadic traditional workers ( i.e Dombari, Dar Veshi, Madari, Rayrand-Bahurupi, Kolata, Nandi wale, Vasudev, etc.)and the community people those are in needs.

We are committed to working for humanity. It emphasizes reducing poverty through Mobilizing the self-help capacities of individuals and communities. It promotes the strength and empowerment of underprivileged women, children, small and marginal tribes, and landless laborers. We work with children, women, adolescents, youth, and victims of society. A variety of activities are being carried out by the organization with an emphasis on awareness generation through training, workshops, exposure visits, and field experience.

We are focused on the betterment of the nomadic tribe’s education, through various innovative methods and research practices. Like “Remedial support classes” and ‘Active library’ projects. GVK has collaborated with various organizations for the social cause. After collaboration with the Women’s and child welfare department of Maharashtra. We are getting support for 25 Children. The organization is composed of young energetic and experienced professionals from diverse backgrounds and has a shared vision of impacting school-going children in rural India.

• We are working for a community who have been boycotted by mainstream society
• We are serving the Tribes, Nomadic Tribes & Orphans who are struggling for their basic needs i.e food, shelter, clothing, health & education
• We are running a "Nivara Balgruh" for Orphans, children of Tribals, Nomadic tribes & single mothers
• We are serving our duties for Tribals, Nomadic Tribes to get proof of Citizenship, proof of cast origin, etc.
• We are providing better education for Tribal, Nomadic Tribes, victims of Criminal cases, and Orphans free of cost.
• We are doing advocacy, advisory to provide constitutional rights
• We are working for single women from Tribal, Nomadic Tribes to provide them with food, clothing, shelter & benefits of various schemes & programs
• We are working to maintain equality in caste, class & religion in mainstream society.
• We are working to reduce the rate of malpractices, superstitions & wrong Cultural influences on Tribals, Nomadic Tribes. i.e Jat Panchayats, Khap Panchayat, child marriages, criminal practices, Dacoits, Internal discrimination, etc.

We are working for the most vulnerable sections of the society; tribal’s, tribes are the most exploited communities, they are known as criminal & hunter tribes in society. i.e ( Pardhi,Billa & de-notified). They live outside of the villages, in forest land. They don’t own their own houses, land, or villages even after years of independence. For the purpose of survival, tribes have to migrate all over Maharashtra. They do not have proof of citizenship, therefore they are not eligible to get any benefits from the Govt. Schemes. Due to the nomadic nature of tribes, their children are not able to pursue education. This results in the involvement of these children in criminal activities and malpractices. Gramin Vikas Kendra has taken the challenge to work for the betterment of such communities. We are trying to provide shelter, food, clothing, health benefits, and proper education. Therefore, we require support from the corporates to change the life of such vulnerable and exploited sections of society.

Impact:

• 71 Children of tribal nomadic & orphans getting quality education. So we are able to stop school dropouts.
• We have stopped the migration of children with their families.
• We managed to prohibit the participation of children in malPractices, criminal activities due to quality education & shelter.
• We are able to stop child labor activities of children.
• We managed to increase the participation of children in educational activities and skilling activities i.e singing, dancing, sports etc.

Women's Empowerment Program:

• We have managed to stop domestic violence.
• We have created 1000+ networks of women in the project area, who are ready to deal with the system independently. The rate of superstitions, Traditional influences are broken down by these women.
• We managed to decrease the divorce cases in the community.
