About the organization
Sabuj Sangha is a non-profit non-government organization dedicated to improving the lives of deprived people of West Bengal, India through participation and empowerment. It was established in Sundarbans of West Bengal, India; was registered under West Bengal Societies Registration Act 1961 in 1975 and also registered under Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act 1976 in 1992. Sabuj Sangha has grown into a vibrant organization working with a range of people across multiple sectors. Sabuj Sangha implements programs catering to the needs of vulnerable communities.
The organization is functional in seven (7) districts namely; South 24 Parganas Alipurduar, Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation of North 24 Parganas district, Kolkata Municipal Corporation areas of Kolkata district, East Medinipur, Nadia and Howrah District of West Bengal. Sabuj Sangha is working with an integrated approach in five thematic areas are:

· Water, Sanitation & Hygiene
· Livelihood &Women Empowerment
· Environment & Disaster Response

Mission
The sustainable development of marginalized and vulnerable people to ensure a quality life through empowerment, education, information, infrastructure development, healthcare service , and economic self-reliance through the convergence of services provided by local self-governments.
As per concept is concerned the organization practices a comprehensive integrated development approach.
As per methodology is concerned the organization practices people’s participatory process in every stratum of development i.e. from project planning to realization monitoring & evaluation.
Beneficiaries belong to a socially excluded, economically marginal, politically disregarded, and culturally weaker community
Sabuj Sangha supplements in the non-arrived geo-specific and thematic sectors of GoI & GoWB in terms of providing services.
Focusing people’s entrepreneurship towards their economic sustenance that relates to other social issues as a synergic effect.
As the workforce is concerned, the average age group of the team is 34 years only with diversified expertise.
Optimum utilization and transparency in managing resources which are published in the public domain.
85% of our staff and beneficiaries are women.

Since the inception, Sabuj Sangha has directly reached out to more than 1.5 million people including children, youths, mothers and senior citizens covering 7 districts of West Bengal through relief & rehabilitation, economic upliftment, education, infrastructure development, healthcare services, women empowerment and entrepreneurship development.
Distribution of relief kits to 1,00,000+ cyclones (Fani, Bulbul, Amphan and Yaas) and Covid-19 pandemic affected families during FY 2017-21
6.5 Lakhs people were reached through digital financial literacy and financial inclusion.
Installed more than 200 community drinking water sources for safe & clean drinking water.
More than 20,000 households’ sanitation was constructed.
Built 300 disaster resistant houses
Provided healthcare services to 5 Lakhs people through hospital and mobile medical service.
Since 2018, more than 700 cataract surgeries have been done
Established women SHG cooperative society ltd. with more than 1,000 shareholders.
Established women run and manage Bakery in Sundarbans.
In FY 2022-23, we have established 32 SMART schools through which more than 50,000+ students in Govt. schools were impacted.
Sabuj Sangha value money that is provided by corporates from their own profit for the development of underprivileged communities.
Sabuj Sangha has a five years Strategic Plan and a clear road map for programmatic and geographical expansion.
The Organisation is able to provide evidence-based case studies, impact reports with timely project updates to the partners for every individual projects
