Vivekananda Medical Foundation and Research Centre(VMFRC), Latur took its leap into the medical profession in the year 1966. The idea and conceptualization were carried out by four highly-skilled, qualified, and motivated doctors –Dr. A.L. Kukade, Dr. J.A. Kukade, Dr. G.R. Bharadia, and Dr. R.K. Alurkar with core values – Sewa, Sanskar, and Sanghatan (Service with ethics, values, teamwork). The four doctors got together and joined hands at BJ Medical College sharing a common goal which was using their knowledge and skill to offer cost-effective and high-quality medical treatments to the economically challenged part of society. The teachings and thoughts of Swami Vivekananda, have played a key role in setting up the foundation of the hospital.

At present, the hospital can cater to around two hundred patients in a day due to its well-equipped establishment, state-of-the-art equipment, and professional skills. In addition, the staff has rich experience in the field which makes it easier to serve the patients in an appropriate way. On account of its innate qualities, the vision of the doctors, and overwhelming support of the society, the hospital progressed rapidly and has attained the present status of an optimally equipped multi-super specialty hospital, having almost all latest patient care facilities under one roof and having the staff of more than 70 doctors and about 400 supporting personnel. Initially, it was a private partnership firm, later in 1979, was converted into a Public Charitable Trust. Today, due to our founding ethics, quality of service, and public support, the Vivekanand family has grown into an organization comprising of multiple individually operating establishments listed below :

VMFRC has established well over so many years and has grown up with support from various donor organizations as well as individual donors and will put forth this flagship program to support the Centre. To transform ‘Medical Care’ to ‘Personalized Medical Care’ by providing precise understanding of the diseases, diagnosis, treatments with help of modern healthcare technology varying from patient to patient significantly improving their diagnosis.

We intend to provide appropriate, optimum and quality health care services to the patients from all sections and strata of our society with a sense of social commitment as an important plank of our medical profession. The institution is providing medical treatment under various government schemes in multiple specialties under one roof. The patients from poor category are treated either free of charge or at half charge of routine charges of the hospital.
